Each fall, cases of COVID-19 and influenza tend to rise. Protecting yourself and your loved ones is important, and staying up to date on vaccinations is one of the best ways to do that.
- COVID-19 Vaccine: Protection decreases over time. If you are 65 years or older, the CDC recommends a second dose of the 2024–2025 Moderna, Novavax, or Pfizer vaccine 6 months after your previous dose (minimum interval: 2 months).
- Influenza Vaccine: The CDC recommends that all adults receive a flu shot each year, ideally by the end of October. The vaccine has been shown to lessen the severity of illness and lower hospitalization rates.
