To: Residents, Tenants, and Family Members of Eventide Lutheran Home and Silveridge Assisted Living
From: Mindi Baker, CEO
Date: March 10, 2020
We know you may be concerned about the spread of the 2019 coronavirus (COVID-19) and how it may impact the Eventide Campus. Ensuring residents are cared for in a safe and healthy environment is our greatest concern.
Due to the elderly being more susceptible to such viruses, we will be enforcing proactive measures to minimize exposure and protect those we serve. We ask the public to please not visit our nursing facility or assisted living facility unless it is an immediate circumstance which should be discussed with Administration in advance of your visit. All visitors must report to the main entrance to be screened by staff. No individual will be permitted into our facilities who meets any of the following criteria:
- Signs or symptoms of respiratory infection, such as a cough, fever, sore throat, runny nose, and/or shortness of breath.
- In the last 14 days, had contact with someone with a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19, or under investigation for COVID-19, or are ill with respiratory illness.
- International or state travel within the last 14 days from an area with widespread or ongoing community spread of COVID-19. Any cruise ship travel in the last 14 days regardless of COVID-19 spread.
In addition, we strongly encourage no resident activity outside our facilities if it is not medically necessary. We understand connecting with loved ones is incredibly important, and there are a variety of other ways you might consider connecting with them. This may include telephone, email, text, Skype, Facebook, or Facetime. Let us know if you would like our staff to help facilitate communication.
This situation will be re-evaluated in two weeks at a minimum. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience this may cause, but believe it is in the best interest of our residents. We will continue to keep you informed. Please visit Eventide A Senior Living Community Facebook page for regular updates.
We continue to monitor information from the IDPH and the CDC and work with state and local public health and emergency preparedness officials to prevent the illness and strengthen our preparation for a possible outbreak. Again, residents are our primary concerns. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact us:
